Richkat (猫员外) is one of the Greater Bay Area's most recognisable craft beer brands — founded in 2017 in Shenzhen and now spanning nearly 200 taprooms across southern China, with 17 outlets in Guangzhou alone. The Tianhe location on Tianhe Nan Er Road (天河南二路19、21号) is among the most prominent in the city, combining Richkat's distinctive modern-industrial design language with the energy of Guangzhou's busiest commercial district.
What sets Richkat apart from most chain taprooms is that they own and operate their own brewery in Sanshui, Foshan, allowing them to pour unfiltered, unpasteurised beers fresh from source. The range spans clean German-inspired lagers, hazy IPAs, fruited sours, and limited seasonal releases — all independently developed by head brewer Gavin, who earned the brand multi-medal wins at the Australian International Beer Awards, World Beer Awards, and Brussels Beer Challenge.
