Trueman Brewing (楚门津酿) was founded in Tianjin in 2016 and has steadily grown into one of China's most respected independent craft beer brands. Their Guangzhou taproom at 体育东路42号 brings Trueman's flagship range to the heart of Tianhe — the same hazy IPAs, sours, and experimental beers that earned them 32 medals (including 10 gold) across five domestic competitions and a debut at the European Beer Star international awards in 2020.
The taproom sits on Tiyudong Road (体育东路), the nucleus of Guangzhou's craft beer scene, making it a natural stop on any Tianhe beer crawl. Trueman's beers are widely distributed across nearly 100 craft beer bars nationally, but drinking them at the taproom — where turnover is highest and beers are freshest — is the best way to experience the range. The hazy IPAs in particular are regarded as among the finest domestically brewed examples in China.
