Mingri Brewing's taproom stands at 356 Xinzha Road in Huangpu District, beside the Suzhou River close to the Wuzhen Road Bridge. The name means "tomorrow", and the brewery's slogan is "Drink Today, Brew Tomorrow". It began as an experiment between three home brewers, who put curiosity at the core of what they make, and founder and head brewer Jin Fan has since won many international awards. The beer is brewed on a ten-barrel system in the old water town of Xitang, with this taproom as its Shanghai outlet.
The flagship is Hazy Dream, a juicy New England-style IPA with tropical fruit character. Sour and fruit-led beers are a strength: the plum gose combines tart plum with a hint of sea salt, and the brewery launches new flavoured beers each month, with past examples including a lime and cucumber gose and a durian porter. The board is therefore worth checking for small-batch releases alongside the regulars.
The setting is part of the appeal. The riverside around the taproom is popular with locals for a walk, and a beer here fits neatly into an evening along the river. Xinzha Road metro station is the nearest stop, with Exit 1 the closest; for a taxi, show the name 明日酒馆. On WeChat the brewery can be found by searching 明日酿造 (ming ri niang zao).
Listed opening hours are 11am to 2am daily, and a 2026 guide puts average spend at about 142 yuan a head. It suits drinkers who want beer brewed close to Shanghai with a creative streak, in a riverside setting.
