Soho Taproom keeps things simple and local. Eleven taps run entirely on Hong Kong beer and cider — a typical board carries Breer, Lion Rock, Hong Kong Beer Co, Heroes, Black Kite, Yardley Brothers, H.K. Lovecraft and NEON Cider — with prices posted clearly on screens above the tap wall and a four-glass flight of 5oz pours for those who want to range across the list.

The room is small and open-fronted, which is much of its appeal: a bar counter looking straight out onto Staunton Street, one of the most densely packed eating and drinking strips in Soho, just off the Mid-Levels Escalator. Bar snacks and fried plates are available, but this is a drinking spot first. Happy hour discounts run on selected beers.

It's the Soho outpost of the same group behind Hong Kong Island Tap House in Tin Hau and Kowloon Taproom in Tsim Sha Tsui, and shares their local-only tap policy. Doors open mid-afternoon on weekdays and slightly earlier at weekends, running late.
