Black Sand Brewery

Italian-born surfer and brewer Mattia Di Bitonto opened Black Sand in 2019, a trailblazer for Bali craft. Steel tanks sit behind the main bar under high ceilings, and a sprawling semi-outdoor beer garden of long communal tables is built for long afternoons. Two bars pour the unfiltered, unpasteurised house range: a German-style Kölsch, an IPA, a Lager, small-batch seasonals and a house cider.

Fridays draw the biggest crowds, with DJs until midnight; Thursdays are pasta night. Walk-ins are welcome but you can reserve. Raid the rear 'beer cave' for craft cans to drink in or take away.
