The Bench (Canggu)

The Bench is Canggu's sports bar, a short walk from Batu Bolong Beach and the sibling venue to The Bench Brewery in Uluwatu. Nine draught lines run behind the bar, six of them craft: the house Bench Brewing range (Easy Blonde, Be Hazy and a 6.5% IPA), Island Brewing Pilsner and Summer Ale, and Black Sand's mango sour. Heineken, Bintang and Albens cider cover the rest.

Sport is the organising principle here rather than beer. Screens run through the open-air terrace showing football, NBA, UFC, AFL and rugby, there are pool tables, and the kitchen turns out American-style bar food built around burgers, fried chicken and wings. The house beers give it more craft credibility than most sports bars in Bali, but come for the fixtures list as much as the tap list.

Open Monday to Saturday from noon until late, and from 8am on Sundays for early kick-offs. Third-party listings show slightly wider hours; the times above come from the venue itself.
