Arch Alley

Arch Alley is a two-storey red-brick restaurant and bar in the Rezeki Graha complex (Block C1) in Sungai Panas, Batam Centre, opened in the early 2020s under the tagline "Where Craft Meets Flames". Arched windows, exposed brick, chandeliers over a long bar and private booths give it the feel of a European warehouse conversion, and an upstairs terrace faces west for the sunset.

For beer drinkers, the draw is a list that is unusual for Batam. Visitors have noted house-branded ales and stouts alongside imported craft IPAs that are otherwise hard to find on the island, which makes it one of the few places in Batam Centre to drink something other than mainstream lager. The wine list runs to more than 100 labels, with a strong showing from Bali, and there is a cocktail list for the rest of the table.

The kitchen is built around wood fire and charcoal: steaks, wood-fired pizza and seafood, with the woodfire oysters and brisket among the dishes visitors single out to pair with a pint. This is a restaurant-bar with table service rather than a taproom, so expect to order food as well as drinks.

Live music plays most evenings, and guides list every night except Monday, so weekends get loud. Listings show it open daily from midday until around midnight, an hour later on Fridays and Saturdays, and reservations are taken by WhatsApp, which is worth doing at weekends. There is valet parking, and guides put it ten to fifteen minutes by taxi from the ferry terminals. Time an early-evening drink on the terrace for sunset, then stay for dinner and the band; it suits couples and groups looking for a proper night out rather than a quick pint.
