Craftbeer Keg Nagoya is one of the founding addresses of Nagoya's craft beer scene, opened by the Okadaya Liquors group — the same team behind Y. Market Brewing — and long considered the best bar in the city for discovering rare Japanese craft beers. Located a 4-minute walk from Sakae Station near Hisaya Odori Park, it occupies a chic, intimate space with terrace seating that comes into its own on warm Nagoya evenings. The tap list runs to 13 at any one time, rotating daily and drawing from microbreweries across Japan — with a particular focus on labels that don't make it onto the tap walls of Tokyo or Osaka. As the sister outlet of Y. Market Brewing, Keg Nagoya pours Y. Market's own hazy IPAs, lagers, and seasonal releases direct from the source, alongside rotating guest beers from Hokkaido, Izu, and further afield. Aged beers — a rarity at most craft beer bars — sometimes appear on the list. The food pairing is a point of difference: a creative Chinese izakaya menu using medicinal spice principles, with dishes like spiced chicken gyoza, dim sum, and small plates designed to complement the beer rather than compete with it. Pizza with unconventional toppings (baby sardines and olives being a cult favourite) rounds out the menu. All-you-can-drink courses are available from ¥5,500.
