Craft Beer Market Whity Umeda opened in late 2017 as the chain's second Osaka location, occupying a unit in the NOMOKA dining section of the Whity Umeda underground shopping mall — one of the largest underground commercial spaces in Japan, connecting Osaka Station with Higashi-Umeda and threading beneath the Kita district's main commercial blocks.
The address puts it in easy reach of multiple transit options: Higashi-Umeda Station (Tanimachi Subway Line) is directly connected, Osaka-Umeda Station is linked through the underground network, and JR Osaka Station is three minutes' walk from exit M9. The underground setting gives the bar a lively atmosphere at almost any time of day — the surrounding foot traffic is relentless.
The food concept is Italian: pizzas (both wood-fired and pan), pasta, and a wide range of aperitivo-style small plates that complement the beer list. It's the most Italian-influenced kitchen in the CBM network, and the combination of IPA with Margherita or a cold-brew saison with gorgonzola is an underrated pairing format.
The tap list runs to 30 rotating lines. Being an Osaka location, the tap list skews slightly more toward Kansai-area producers — Minoh Beer, Kyoto Brewing, Nara and Wakayama microbreweries — alongside the national portfolio. Prices follow the chain's flat structure: glass from ¥690, pint from ¥880, plus a ¥300 table charge from 3pm.
Whity Umeda is open all day from 11am, making it one of the few craft beer bars in Osaka accessible for a lunchtime pint.
