Beer Bar NORTH ISLAND

Two friends back from travelling in Canada founded the brewery in 2003, starting with a brew-on-premises pub before moving to the wheat-farming town of Ebetsu. Its Coriander Black, a spiced dark ale, has become a Hokkaido signature, pouring beside the Pilsner, Weizen, Brown Ale, IPA and bar exclusives in a room walled with Ebetsu brick.

It is in the Large Country Building, entered from the west side; time your visit for sunset. Note the Thursday closure, which many directories miss. Order the thick-cut jingisukan lamb. All seating is non-smoking.
