Craft Beer Market Sendai Ekimae opened in August 2022 as the chain's first venture north of Tokyo, occupying the ground floor of the Daiwa Roynet Hotel Sendai Nishiguchi on Chuo, a few minutes' walk from the west exit of JR Sendai Station. It remains the closest craft beer bar to the station at the time of writing. The Sendai location carries regional significance that goes beyond being a chain outlet: the tap list here deliberately features Tohoku craft breweries alongside the national Japanese producers found at other CBM branches. Sendai and Miyagi-based breweries appear regularly, giving local craft beer drinkers a reliable showcase for regional production. For visitors arriving on the Shinkansen, it serves as the ideal first or last stop to explore what Tohoku's growing craft beer scene has to offer. The food concept is gyoza and spice — house-made dumplings in several styles, including Sendai miso gyoza and a 7-piece variety tasting plate. It's the same kitchen concept as Tokyo Torch and Kichijoji Pennylane, and it works well. The Sendai Miso variety is a local touch worth trying. The bar opens daily with both lunch and dinner service, and operates year-round with no regular closing days. The tall-windowed corner unit has a light, airy feel compared to some of the older Tokyo outlets. **Opening Hours** Mon–Fri: Lunch 11:30am–2:30pm, Dinner 5pm–11pm Sat, Sun & public holidays: Lunch 11:30am–2:30pm, Café 2:30–5pm, Dinner 5pm–11pm
