Craft Beer Market Sendai Ekimae

Opened in August 2022 as the chain's first venture north of Tokyo, Craft Beer Market Sendai Ekimae is still the only branch in Tohoku. The bright, tall-windowed corner unit sits on the ground floor of the Daiwa Roynet Hotel Sendai Nishiguchi at 3-7-25 Chuo, Aoba-ku, a few minutes' walk from the west exit of JR Sendai Station.

As at every Craft Beer Market, around 30 draught beers are on at any time, and the list changes as kegs run out. Here the tap list deliberately features Tohoku craft breweries alongside national Japanese producers, which makes it a reliable showcase for regional brewing and a good place to try Miyagi and neighbouring prefectures' beers without touring the breweries. Staff are used to helping beginners pick, and the chain announced in September 2026 that its standard glass price was returning to the original ¥480.

Each Craft Beer Market has its own food theme, and in Sendai it is gyoza, made in-house. Order the local Sendai miso version, or share the seven-piece variety tasting plate. Fried chicken, fries and a salad with homemade curry dressing round out the snack side. For groups, a two-hour all-you-can-drink course with five dishes costs ¥5,000, and a one-hour second-round course from 8.30pm costs ¥3,000.

The bar is open every day of the year. Lunch runs from 11.30am to 2.30pm and dinner from 5pm to 11pm, and at weekends and on holidays a cafe session fills the gap between the two, so it is possible to drink here right through the afternoon. For Shinkansen travellers it makes an ideal first or last stop in the city, and it is handy for anyone staying in the hotels around the station.
