Antenna America Tokyo opened in April 2022 in the Yaesu Underground Mall directly beneath Tokyo Station, and has become one of the easiest craft beer stops in the city to work into a travel day. It is a bar and bottle shop in one, run by Nagano Trading, the importer that did more than anyone to bring American craft beer to Japan.

Around ten taps are arranged by style, which makes the list unusually easy to navigate if you are not deep into American breweries, and the rotation moves quickly with new arrivals landing weekly. Behind that sits a wall of fridges holding over 300 imported cans and bottles, all available to drink in or take away, which makes it a natural last stop before boarding a Shinkansen.

The room reads as a polished American sports bar: dark fit-out, high tables, screens, a foosball table and a large illuminated Antenna America sign over the counter. The kitchen turns out burgers, chicken wings, tacos and quesadillas, with Taco Tuesday a regular fixture.

Worth knowing that this is an American craft specialist rather than a place to explore Japanese brewing, and prices reflect the import costs. Open every day from 11am to 11pm.
