The Nakameguro Taproom was Baird Beer's original Tokyo location and remains one of the most characterful craft beer rooms in the city. It occupies the second floor of Nakameguro GT Plaza Building C, a short walk from Nakameguro Station and the Meguro River.
The storefront is unmistakable, all timber cladding and hand-painted signage, with a wall of menus, a chalkboard listing the day's pours and a Baird Beer roundel by the door. Inside, the taproom runs the full core Baird range fresh from Shizuoka plus seasonal and one-off releases, so the list rewards repeat visits.
The kitchen here specialises in New Haven style pizza, thin, charred and closer to a Connecticut apizza than anything else you will find in Tokyo. It is a genuinely good match for Baird's hoppier and maltier beers, and pizzas are also available to take away. Like all Baird taprooms the venue is completely non-smoking.
