Outdoor seating available Craft Beer Market Toranomon is where it all started — the flagship first outlet of a chain that would go on to transform affordable craft beer drinking across Japan. Opening in February 2011 in a ground-floor unit of the S.A. Grace Building in Nishi-Shimbashi, it landed in the middle of one of Tokyo's densest office districts and quickly became the go-to post-work spot for the surrounding salarymen.
The format is straightforward and highly effective: up to 30 taps of Japanese and imported craft beer, all priced at a flat ¥690 per glass or ¥880–¥990 per US pint, with a ¥300 table charge. The tap list rotates daily and is posted online each morning, covering lagers, pale ales, IPAs, stouts, wheat beers, and seasonal releases from across Japan's thriving microbrewery scene. Familiar names like Baird, Coedo, Kinshachi, and Aquila appear regularly alongside lesser-known regional producers.
The food concept here is eclectic pub fare — a mix of Japanese izakaya bites and Western-influenced tapas that pairs comfortably with most beer styles. The terrace seating out front is particularly popular in warmer months.
Toranomon is closed on Sundays and public holidays, making it firmly a weekday institution. All-you-can-drink party plans are available from ¥5,500, and the bar takes reservations for groups of two or more.
