DevilCraft Kanda is where the whole operation started. Founded in July 2011 by three Americans, it introduced Tokyo to the combination that has defined the brand ever since: serious craft beer and properly made Chicago-style deep dish pizza. The bar occupies the Ishikawa Building on Nihonbashi-Muromachi, two minutes from the south exit of JR Kanda Station.
Fourteen taps run across house beers brewed at DevilCraft's own Oimachi brewery, which received its licence in 2015, plus a rotating cast of guest craft from Japan and abroad. The house range covers most styles and the IPAs in particular hold their own against anything imported.
The building is narrow but taller than it looks: twelve bar seats on the ground floor, fourteen table seats on the second and a sixteen-seat party space on the third. The deep dish takes around twenty minutes to come out of the oven, so order early and work through a beer or two while you wait. Buffalo wings and loaded fries fill the gaps. The whole venue is smoke-free, and bookings are strongly recommended.
