Engkanto Taps – BGC

Engkanto Taps BGC is the flagship Metro Manila taproom of Engkanto Brewery, one of the best-known names in Philippine craft beer. It opened on 12 March 2025 in Forbes Town, close to Burgos Circle in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, and was the brewery's second taproom after its first in Santa Rosa, Laguna. Engkanto has since added taprooms at NBS Park in Mandaluyong and at Bridgetowne in Quezon City.

Everything on the bar is Engkanto's own. Eight beers were on tap at launch, built around the core range: High Hive Honey Ale, which was named the world's best in its category at the 2024 World Beer Awards, Paint Me Purple Ube Lager, Mango Nation Hazy IPA, Live It Up Lager and Green Lava Double IPA. Seasonal brews made with local fruits and flowers rotate alongside them. Launch coverage listed regular pours at P160 and large ones at P300, and a flight lets drinkers pick any four taps in 200ml glasses, which is the easiest way to work through the range.

The cocktail list leans on the beer too. The Sampa-Loca Highball is built on Green Lava Double IPA with agave, and the Nutty & Nice-presso is an espresso martini made with the brewery's Nutty & Nice Choco-Nut Stout; cocktails started at around P400 when the bar opened.

The food menu, created by chef Luis de Terry for pairing with the beer, runs from nachos, fried pickles, chilli-garlic chicharrón and chorizo-cheddar dynamite lumpia to Croqueta Gonzalez (beef chilli in creamy potato), Yiken Inasal sa Gata and a Sausage Party platter served with a house Engkanto Ale Mustard. Sisig and barbecue round it out.

The taproom opens daily from 5pm to 2am and hosts periodic themed events and live entertainment. It suits anyone wanting a straightforward introduction to Filipino-brewed beer, with the whole core range and the seasonal specials under one roof.
