The Autobus (Shenton Way)

The Autobus at 6A Shenton Way, in the OUE Downtown Gallery, runs a double life: healthy protein bowls for the office lunch crowd by day, and what it calls Singapore's largest craft beer taproom by night, with 45 local and international beers on tap. It has been serving bowls here since 2017, and this is where a small CBD taproom group began, now with outposts at Raffles Place and Labrador Tower.

After dark, dozens of taps span Eastern Europe, the US, Singapore and China, backed by an extensive natural wine fridge. Recent tap lists on Untappd lean heavily towards Chinese craft, which is rare in Singapore: Shapowei, NO.18 Brewing, Master Gao from Nanjing and Myth Monkey all feature, with styles from a jasmine tea lager and oolong wheat beer to West Coast IPAs, smoothie sours and a bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout. Local names such as Brewlander, Alive Brewing, Niang and Lion Brewery, whose nitro stout is often on, fill out the board. Pours come in 355ml and 473ml sizes, mostly between about S$10 and S$22, and a six-beer tasting flight is the best way to explore. Happy-hour pints of the house lager and a few others are S$10.

The kitchen shifts from healthy bowls to tapas, wagyu steaks, live oysters and charcuterie and cheese boards, with the dinner menu offered only here and at Raffles Place. Draft cocktails, wine and alcohol-free options are on hand for the non-beer drinkers in a group.

It's a short walk from Lau Pa Sat and popular with the surrounding CBD offices, so expect an after-work crowd. It keeps office hours rather than late-night ones: listings show it closing around 9.30pm on weekdays, earlier on Saturdays, and closed on Sundays, so check before planning a late session.
