RedDot BrewHouse holds a singular place in Singapore's craft beer history. Founded by Ernest Ng — who spent nearly a decade perfecting his brewing craft before opening — it occupies a lovingly restored 19th-century colonial barracks building in the green enclave of Dempsey Hill, just a short distance from the Botanic Gardens. The brewery equipment is visible through full-height glass walls at the entrance, a nod to the transparency and craftsmanship at the heart of the operation.
The bar pours an ever-rotating lineup of house-brewed beers, from the crowd-favourite Monster Green Lager (naturally coloured by spirulina) to a Czech Pilsner, Kolsch, Weizen, Lime Wheat, and seasonal specials. For something uniquely Singaporean, try the SG Dragon Lager, infused with dragon fruit for a subtle tropical twist. Tasting paddles are available for first-timers wanting to work through the range.
The space is expansive and genuinely atmospheric — indoor bar seating in the colonial building gives way to two levels of open garden terraces, often accompanied by live music in the evenings. RedDot is proudly pet-friendly, making it one of Dempsey Hill's most popular spots for both residents and visitors looking to combine great craft beer with a relaxed, garden escape from the city.
