Brewerkz (Riverside Point)

Brewerkz is where Singapore's craft beer story began. Founded in 1997, it holds the distinction of being the city's oldest independent craft brewery, and the Riverside Point outlet on the Singapore River remains its flagship — a lively, well-worn anchor of Clarke Quay's dining and drinking scene for nearly three decades.

The brewery produces all its beers on-site, with a rotating tap list built around a core of classic styles: Golden Ale, Indian Pale Ale, Pilsner, and Oatmeal Stout, alongside seasonal releases. The IPA has won a World Beer Cup medal for best English-style IPA; the oatmeal stout has been rated top beer in Singapore by RateBeer.com. A further dozen-plus seasonal and limited releases keep regulars returning throughout the year — look for Oktoberfest lagers in September and creative one-offs tied to local events. The brewery produces up to 4,000 hectolitres annually, making it one of the highest-volume independent craft operations in Southeast Asia.

The Riverside Point location is as much about the setting as the beer. Outdoor riverside tables occupy a prime stretch of the Singapore River walkway, putting Brewerkz in one of the city's best spots for an evening pint as bumboats pass and Clarke Quay's neon reflects off the water. The indoor space is expansive and unpretentious — dark timber, stainless steel tanks visible behind glass, and a kitchen serving generous portions of American-style comfort food: gourmet burgers, fish and chips, kombu truffle fries, and more.

Brewerkz now has six outlets island-wide (Riverside Point, One Fullerton, Orchard, East Coast Park, Seletar Aerospace Park, and Woodleigh Mall), but Riverside Point remains the heart of the operation — the original home and still the go-to for a front-row seat on the river.
