Galmegi Brewing Co. opened in May 2014 as Busan's first American-style craft brewery and brewpub, one street back from Gwangalli Beach. The name — galmegi means seagull in Korean — reflects the Busan seafront identity, and the beers are named after boats and ships. Over a decade later, Galmegi has grown into one of the most recognised craft beer brands in Korea, with multiple locations across the city, but the original Gwangan Brewery remains the flagship and the venue with the most character. The two-storey space has exposed brick, industrial fittings, and brewery tanks visible behind the bar on the ground floor. The tap list runs to 10+ house beers including the Galmegi IPA (6.5% ABV, strong hop bitterness), a Campfire Amber, a Sea Breeze hazy IPA, and rotating seasonals. Imported guest taps and a curated bottle list round out the selection. The kitchen serves Detroit-style deep-dish pizza, fish and chips, and pub snacks — a menu that has consistently received strong reviews. Staff speak English and the venue is welcoming to international visitors. Board games available. Some outdoor seating in warmer months. **Opening Hours** Mon–Thu: 4pm – 1am Fri: 4pm – 3am Sat–Sun: 1pm – 3am
