Gorilla Brewing Co. has established itself as one of the most prominent craft beer destinations in Korea since opening its Gwangalli Beach location. The venue is hard to miss — a large, industrial-style brewpub on the ground floor of a building directly facing Gwangan Beach, with expansive windows giving views of the illuminated Gwangan Bridge at night. The brewery operates on the ground floor and the taproom is directly above it, which means the house beers are brewed on-site and poured fresh.
The tap wall runs to 24 house brews, with the British Stout and the Red Lager consistently cited as the standouts. The brewery also produces a Gorilla Newing (an accessible new-style IPA), a Tiramisu Stout, a Raspberry Wheat, and a rotating slate of seasonal and collaboration beers. Twelve guest taps bring in the best of Korean craft from other producers. The food menu includes flatbread pizzas, loaded fries, and fried chicken from a partnership with Nekkid Wings Seoul. The venue runs events year-round — live music on weekends, free yoga and self-defence classes on Saturday mornings with Teammad — and the large space accommodates groups comfortably. The Gwangalli location is within walking distance of several other craft beer venues, making it a natural anchor for a bar crawl.
