Gorilla Brewing Co. – Gorilla Haeundae

Gorilla Haeundae is the second of Gorilla Brewing Company's two current Busan venues. The brewery describes it as the more laid-back side of Gorilla, aimed at easy evenings, in contrast to its Gorilla Beach taproom in the LCT development on Haeundae Beach. The brewery's map pin places it in U-dong, Haeundae-gu, a short walk from Haeundae Station on Busan Metro Line 2, so it is an easy stop for anyone staying in central Haeundae.

Gorilla was founded in Busan in 2016 and is run by co-owner and CEO Paul Edwards, who earlier co-founded Galmegi Brewing. It grew from a small bar in Millak-dong into a Gwangalli brewpub, since closed, and now brews at a production plant in Jeonggwan-eup, Gijang.

Expect the house range rather than guest beers. The brewery's Untappd page lists Gorilla IPA, Newing hazy IPA, Busan Pale Ale, British Stout, Gorillager lager, Raspberry Wheat, Popsicle IPA, the Sun Shower sour IPA and the Pineapple Wave gose among its most-drunk beers, alongside occasional specials such as a soju-barrel-aged imperial stout. The core range is also canned and sold in Busan bottle shops.

The brewery lists opening hours of 5pm to 11pm every day. Little else has been published about this venue's room or menu yet, so check with the brewery for the current food offer and events, or head to Gorilla Beach for the beachfront taproom.
