Beerpost Bar

Beerpost Bar is affiliated with The Beer Post, a Korean craft beer magazine, and it shows: the space is part bottle shop, part reading room, with beer magazines and books lining the walls above a well-stocked walk-in cooler. It's on the ground floor at 15 Dorim-ro 131-gil in Mullae-dong.

Pick a bottle from the cooler room and staff will pour it into a branded glass. The selection runs from traditional styles through to more experimental and imported bottles, plus cider, mead and makgeolli for those wanting to branch out, and there's a draught list too. Reviewers on Polle mention hazy hoppy ales, pilsners, a matcha lambic and Korean craft such as Taepyeong's white ale, along with a strong Korean grain spirit poured by the glass; one found bottle prices on the high side.

The food is more than snacks: weisswurst, a cheese and jamón platter, baked camembert with crackers, ragù cheese nachos, chicken cream soup and a Malenka honey cake. A folding front opens the room onto the street, the tables are spacious, dogs are welcome and solo drinkers are common.

It sits in Mullae-dong, Seoul's old industrial ironworks district turned artist studios and indie bars, an under-covered pocket of the city's craft beer map. Reviewers rate it as a good second or third stop, which makes it a good complement to a wider Mullae bar crawl, and it can get busy enough for a short wait. There's no parking.
