Taihu Brewing opened its Tainan taproom on 20 December 2025, at Unit D on the ground floor of No. 660, Section 1, Ximen Road, in the West Central District near Shin Kong Mitsukoshi's Ximen store. It is the brewery's first all-day dining tavern and its first site designed as a full restaurant. The space covers about 120 ping, roughly 400 square metres, with a ceiling around four metres high, floor-to-ceiling windows onto the street and an outdoor seating area.
The design is lighter and warmer than Taihu's darker bars, echoing the wooden look of its Xinyi taproom and borrowing small wood-block details from the Da'an bar. It introduced a double-sided tap system, so the same lines pour for both indoor and outdoor seating, around a central fridge. Taihu's own beers lead the list, with more than ten house options at opening plus some imports; a visitor in 2026 counted 20 beers on tap on a quiet Sunday night, including a West Coast DIPA and Tropical Krush, with dozens of cans in the fridges. Small glasses started at around NT$220.
The kitchen serves Taihu's familiar menu, including onion dip with house-made crisps, Sichuan pepper chicken wings, smash burgers and pizzas from an Italian oven. Tainan-only dishes include slow-braised bone-in beef from co-founder Chris's recipe, sourdough sandwiches made with bread from local bakery Shi Shi, and Hawaiian garlic shrimp. Cocktails were created with Huang Yi-hsiang of TCRC and Bar Home.
Hours are noon to midnight from Sunday to Thursday and noon to 1am on Fridays and Saturdays. A private room takes around 50 to 65 people, which makes it a practical choice for groups as well as for a pint and a pizza.
