BeerGeek MicroPub

BeerGeek (啤痞) has been running since the mid-2010s and is one of the venues that established the micropub format in Taipei. It is small by design: six to eight rotating draft lines and a bottle list that runs considerably deeper than the tap wall suggests.

The selection leans hard on imported American and European craft — recent pours have included the likes of Equilibrium Brewery — backed by Taiwanese draft and a rotating cast of harder-to-find bottles. It is a beer-nerd bar in the best sense: the staff know what is in the fridge and why it is there, and the room rewards conversation over volume.

Happy hour runs 6pm to 8pm daily with pours from around NT$150, which is good value for the quality of the list. It is roughly a ten-minute walk from the Xinyi malls into a quieter residential block, and the bar stays open until 2am.
