Kahu Craft Beer Garden sits on Wenquan Road in Beitou, the hot-spring valley at the northern end of the Taipei MRT, and it is the only craft beer venue of its kind in the district. The setting is the whole proposition: a garden overlooking the Beitou stream, shaded and open-air, a world away from the city's basement taprooms.
The taps rotate through Taiwanese breweries with Island Life Brewing featuring regularly. The kitchen is more ambitious than the format suggests — pizza, Mexican plates, bruschetta and breaded oysters — and a weekend brunch menu has been added, which makes it a viable daytime stop before or after the hot springs.
It holds 4.6 across more than 400 Google reviews, runs live singing on selected nights, and is genuinely kid-friendly, which is rare in this directory. For anyone spending a day in Beitou, it is the obvious place to end up.
