ON TAP has been trading since 2011 and bills itself as Taipei's only real pub. Whether or not that survives scrutiny, it is the city's most established expat drinking institution, tucked into an alley off Zhongxiao East Road a short walk from Zhongxiao Dunhua MRT.
The draught line-up is import-led β Guinness, Abbot Ale, Stowford Press cider, Hoegaarden, Stella, San Miguel β but it also carries Taiwanese craft as guest pours, and remains one of the reliable places to find Redpoint on tap since that brewery's own taproom closed. The kitchen does the full British repertoire properly: fish and chips, meat pies, Guinness beef pie, chips and gravy, wings.
Happy hour runs 5pm to 6pm daily at NT$90 a drink, with an all-night happy hour on Wednesdays. Multiple screens make it the default Taipei venue for Premier League and Six Nations kick-offs, and it holds 4.1 across more than 110 TripAdvisor reviews.
