The 58 Bar

The 58 Bar sits on Kaifeng Street in Wanhua, about eight minutes from Ximen MRT, and pairs a British bistro format with what may be the most comprehensive Taiwanese beer list in Taipei: draught plus more than a hundred varieties, sourced from over thirty Taiwanese breweries.

That breadth is the reason to come. Where most Taipei bars carry the same handful of established local names, The 58 Bar reaches into the smaller and newer end of the Taiwanese scene, which makes it a useful complement to — rather than a duplicate of — the other Ximending beer bars.

The kitchen runs a British menu alongside American-style pizza, and there is a whisky and sake list for anyone in the party who is not drinking beer. Open daily from 6:30pm to 1am.
