Tipsy Dragon sits on Nanjing East Road in Songshan and does something unusual for Taipei: it runs a rotating Taiwanese-led beer selection and a proper cocktail programme at the same time, without either feeling like an afterthought. Most bars in the city commit to one or the other.
That makes it a practical answer to the mixed group problem — the drinker who wants a local IPA and the one who wants a well-made cocktail can both be satisfied without compromise. Reviewers consistently single out the Taiwanese beer range as the reason to return.
The room is small and unpretentious, budget runs around NT$250 a head, and it opens at 7pm. Note the schedule carefully: it is closed Sundays, Mondays and public holidays, and runs to 2am Thursday through Saturday.
