12°Plato Brewing

12°Plato is a Bang Na microbrewery and taproom where the beer is brewed and fermented a few steps from where you drink it. It was founded by the people behind the respected Thai homebrew label Charmyai, and occupies the ground floor behind the Orion Hotel and Residence on Soi Bang Na-Trat 30.

A 21-tap wall mixes the house beers with local Thai craft and selected imported European labels. Untappd lists more than a hundred 12°Plato beers, and recent house pours include Pacific Coast Pils, Bangna Lager, Lasalle Pale Ale and hazy and fruited specials such as All Eyes On Me and In My Life. The bar's own line is "pick your °Plato, pick your moment", and you are welcome to look at the brewing kit as you work through the taps.

The standout is the patio, where large glass panels fold fully open to merge bar and garden, and it catches enough breeze to make evening drinking comfortable. Live bands rotate through the night, which makes it a favourite on music evenings, and the menu runs to Western-style bar food. Small dogs are welcome indoors in a carrier, and larger dogs on the patio.

Time Out lists opening daily from 5pm to midnight. Take the BTS to Bang Na, then a short taxi or motorbike ride. It isn't visible from the street, so look for the Orion and 12°Plato signage on the grey wall leading into the car park. It suits after-work groups from the Bang Na offices and anyone who wants to drink beer at the place it is made.
