Taproom by the River occupies an open-air terrace at The Salil Hotel Riverside, a five-star boutique hotel on Charoenkrung Soi 72/1 — one of Bangkok’s oldest and most characterful neighbourhoods, now squarely on the city’s restaurant and bar trail. The setting is a genuine step up from any other Taproom location: 25 seats on the Chao Phraya waterfront, with the river moving past and the city lights of the opposite bank in the distance.
The beer list runs 26 rotating taps covering imported craft from the UK, US, Europe, and Southeast Asia — IPAs, stouts, sours, porters, and lagers that rotate regularly. Over 100 bottled and canned options extend the choice further. Staff are knowledgeable and the pours consistent, in the same style as every Taproom location. A weekday happy hour runs from 5pm to 6pm with half-price selected craft beers — making it an excellent early evening stop before dinner in the neighbourhood.
Food is available and reflects the hotel’s riverfront dining programme, with bar snacks and the hotel’s renowned jumbo lobster dishes available for riverside dining alongside your beer. The nearest BTS is Saphan Taksin (a short walk or taxi); the bar is also accessible by river taxi to the Charoen Krung 72/1 pier.
