Eight Days A Week Cool Muang opened in September 2024 as the northern Thai outpost of the well-regarded Bangkok taproom brand, and it has already established itself as one of the most talked-about craft beer openings in Chiang Mai's recent history. The bar is housed in a beautifully converted traditional Lanna-style building just beyond the southern walls of the Old Town โ close enough to walk from the moat, far enough to feel like a discovery.
The taproom is airy and inviting, with ten rotating taps pouring a selection focused primarily on Thai craft brews. The style range is deliberately broad โ crisp lagers, bold IPAs, rich stouts, and sour beers all make appearances on the rotating line-up, and the 'try before you buy' approach means you can sample your way through the list before committing to a full pour. The staff are proper beer enthusiasts who take genuine pleasure in guiding guests through the day's selection.
The food menu is focused and well-executed, with standout dishes that have developed their own following among regulars. There is outdoor seating in addition to the covered taproom, live music on certain evenings, and parking available โ making this a practical as well as a quality destination. A strong addition to Chiang Mai's craft beer geography that has quickly become a local favourite.
