Number 1 Cafe Bistro

Number 1 Cafe Bistro, at 2 Loi Kroh Soi 1 just off Loi Kroh Road in the Night Bazaar area, has built its name on Belgian beer, from Kwak in its signature stand-up glass to a rotating cast of other Belgian classics. It stocks one of northern Thailand's largest ranges of Belgian beer, alongside mainstream and craft beers from around the world.

Up to a dozen taps pour local and international beer, backed by a serious walk-in fridge of bottles. Only staff go into the fridge, so tell them what you like and let them pick something out. The atmosphere is relaxed European pub rather than rowdy sports bar, with street-side tables on a quiet, lantern-lit soi.

Come for slow sipping of beers other Night Bazaar venues don't carry. Beer Asia lists it as open daily from 3pm to 2am, so it works both as an afternoon escape from the market crowds and as a late stop once the bazaar has packed up.
