iBiero Craft Beer Station (99 Lê Duẩn)

iBiero is a homegrown Vietnamese brewery, founded in late 2016 by Đỗ Giang Vinh. The name joins an 'i' for innovative with biero, a word for beer, and the brewery works with imported raw ingredients and original recipes adapted for the local market, brewed by hand by a Vietnamese team. It produces American-style IPAs alongside European-style lagers, sold on draught and in bottles and cans.

This 99 Lê Duẩn flagship, directly across from Hanoi Railway Station, is its most prominent taproom and also the company's registered address. It runs a steakhouse food menu alongside the beer list, and the brewery also lists a private club at the same address, so it suits a proper sit-down dinner as much as a beer.

iBiero has expanded to several more locations since opening here, including 48 Lê Văn Lương in Thanh Xuân and, further afield, a branch at 65 Xuân Thủy in Ho Chi Minh City; earlier lists also included 460 Minh Khai and 537 Lạc Long Quân. Check the brewery's site for current addresses before heading out, but 99 Lê Duẩn remains the original and most central.

Being opposite the station makes it handy for anyone arriving on or waiting for a train, and it is a short taxi ride from the Old Quarter and Hoàn Kiếm Lake.
