Founded in late 2022 by two passionate brewers in Denpasar, Canard Brewing Co. arrived in Bali's craft beer scene with a clear point of difference: quality, authenticity, and elegance. Their original taproom, on the second floor of Pertokoan Nakula Plaza in Legian, channels vintage old-Hollywood glamour with its sleek, intimate décor — a deliberate contrast to the industrial warehouse aesthetic most Bali brewpubs favour. Canard brews six European-inspired craft beers using original, often centuries-old recipes: a zesty Strawberry Gose (3.7% ABV), a smooth Witbier (4.8%), a crisp Kölsch (4.7%), a hoppy Session IPA (4.7%), a rich Porter (4.8%), and the powerful Weizenbock (9.5% ABV). One of Canard's founding missions is to make craft beer more approachable for women — a nod to history's original 'brewsters', who were the primary brewers of ale for centuries. The signature experience is a curated beer-and-food pairing set menu: a three-beer flight (dark or light) or the full six-beer tasting, each course matched with a complementary dish — from coconut sourdough with seaweed butter paired with Strawberry Gose, to panna cotta with raspberry coulis alongside the Weizenbock. Additional locations operate in Sanur (Hops Beer Garden) and Surabaya.
