Inglorious Basterds

From the outside, Inglorious Basterds looks almost deliberately undercover — a nondescript black sign and a dark entrance that wouldn't look out of place as a forgotten barbershop. Step inside and climb the stairs, however, and you're in a world of your own: beer pong table, pool table, an orange couch lifted straight from Friends, and a genuinely warm community vibe that's rare to find in Jakarta. Opened in March 2021 in Kebayoran Baru, Inglorious Basterds has become a beacon for Jakarta's craft beer scene. Their rotating tap selection showcases their own in-house brews — hoppy lagers, IPAs, and seasonal specials — alongside the best from Indonesian independent breweries and selected international labels. The beers have drawn consistently strong reviews, particularly the lagers and IPAs. Food is solid bar fare: BBQ burgers, Jamaican jerk chicken, and classic bites designed to complement the beer. The bar doubles as a live music venue, karaoke spot, and sports viewing hub, with a free-flow craft beer promo (Monday to Thursday, 6–8pm) that's among the best value in Jakarta.
