Blue Supreme occupies a graceful corner space on Tung Street in Sheung Wan, where the neon glow of its 'Live Beers' sign draws drinkers from the antique galleries of Upper Lascar Row. Dark teal walls, wooden furniture, a high ceiling and floor-to-ceiling windows that open onto the pedestrianised street create one of the most genuinely inviting bar atmospheres in Hong Kong.
The beer programme is the most distinctive in the city for fans of traditional Belgian and wild fermentation styles. Blue Supreme specialises in bottle-conditioned and spontaneously fermented beers — lambics, gueuze, Flemish sours, farmhouse saisons and mixed-culture wild ales. For those new to the style, the staff are patient and enthusiastic guides. A selection of local Hong Kong craft beers on tap provides a more accessible entry point, and skin-contact wines are also available.
The American-inspired food menu is genuinely excellent and stands as a destination in its own right — unusual for a specialist beer bar of this calibre. Opened quietly at the end of 2017, Blue Supreme has become an essential stop for serious craft beer drinkers visiting Hong Kong Island.
