TAP: The Ale Project expanded beyond its Mong Kok home to open this New Territories branch inside The Mills, the landmark adaptive reuse of the historic Nan Fung textile mills in Tsuen Wan. The setting is fitting — a heritage industrial space repurposed as a creative hub, housing the craft beer taproom that has always championed an independent, community-first approach.
The Tsuen Wan location carries the same DNA as the original: rotating Young Master Brewery pours — IPAs, sours, stouts, pale ales and seasonal specials — alongside a curated selection of imported craft beers. The tap list skews towards approachable, well-made beers with enough depth to satisfy devoted beer geeks alongside newcomers to the scene.
The Mills itself is worth the journey: a carefully restored 1950s textile complex now home to studios, galleries, boutiques and restaurants. TAP fits naturally into this creative ecosystem, offering a knowledgeable and unpretentious space to drink well in a part of the territory that has historically been underserved for craft beer. Tsuen Wan MTR is within easy walking distance.
