Young Master Brewery is the most decorated craft brewery in Asia and the engine behind Hong Kong's craft beer revolution. Founded in 2013, the brewery takes its name from a nostalgic nod to the city's industrial past — the era when textiles, plastics and electronics defined Hong Kong's economy. Today the brewery occupies a ground-floor space in the Sungib Industrial Centre in Wong Chuk Hang, alongside a second facility in Ap Lei Chau, forming one of the largest craft brewing operations in the region.
The Wong Chuk Hang brewhouse is home to Hong Kong's largest craft brewhouse and Asia's largest wood barrel ageing programme, including a custom-built oak foeder — the first of its kind on the continent — used for mixed-culture fermentation. The range stretches from the classic Hong Kong Lager and the wildly popular Cha Chaan Teng Gose (a salty lemon tea sour) to barrel-aged imperial stouts and experimental wild ales.
Guided brewery tours run on Saturdays — English at 1pm, Cantonese at 4pm — and must be booked online in advance. On-site drinking is not permitted, but the brewery operates a full beer-to-go service. Young Master beers are available at 7-Eleven, Circle K and partnered bars across Hong Kong, Singapore and mainland China. The brewery is a seven-minute walk from Wong Chuk Hang MTR (Exit A1).
