The 90's Beer is a laid-back tuckshop bar in Lutong, the old Shell suburb about 15 minutes north of Miri on the road to Brunei, and it is the place to try Hornbeer, the Sarawak-brewed craft range from Hornbill that started commercial production in late 2024. All four of the current beers, including the dry beer, pale ale, wheat beer and session IPA, are on tap at prices well below city bars, with bottled Tsingtao and canned Asahi and Sagota for anyone who wants a macro.
Food is grill-led and cheap: house burgers, BBQ pork, chicken wings and handmade pork meatballs from the Fatty's Kushi-ya skewer counter. It opens from mid-morning until 11pm, closes on Sundays, and works well as a last beer before the Brunei border or a football night with the locals.
