Award-winning Hong Kong nano brewery in a San Po Kong industrial building, known for zombie-themed cans, hoppy pale ales and IPAs, and Friday-night tours with free-flow tasting.
Deadman Brewery was founded by Gerry Kuo, who picked up a taste for West Coast-style beer while studying in Canada and started out brewing on his rooftop; the brewery's own story says it was founded in 2019 by "two stubborn brewers and one mortician". It brews in the Lee Chung Industrial Building on Tsat Po Street, San Po Kong, and sells to bars across the city. The branding is loud, with a skull logo and cartoon labels, but the brewery talks about balance, and it has the awards to back that up: it was named best Asian brewery at the 2020 Asia International Beer Competition and best Hong Kong brewery at the 2023 Hong Kong International Beer Awards, and has taken golds at the Asia Beer Championship for Mirror Mirror Pale Ale and Hop Robber Double IPA.
The beers

The range has run to more than 40 beers, with lagers and pilsners in summer and stouts in winter, plus sours and a canned mojito-style RTD. Beer is sold in cans through the online shop and on draught in bars.
Where to drink it
The Deadman Brewery taproom is inside the brewhouse at 2B Lee Chung Industrial Building, 7 Tsat Po Street, San Po Kong. It is not a walk-in bar: it opens on Friday nights from 6pm for ticketed beer tours with free-flow tasting, plus private sessions, so book ahead. Elsewhere, look for it at Second Draft & Friends in Causeway Bay, which lists Deadman among its regular local taps, and at Hong Kong Island Tap House in Tin Hau. All of these are listed below.
