Family-run Singapore craft brewery founded in 2013 by the Yeo family, brewing Teochew-inspired beers such as Yellow Van and Liang Teh Lager at its own brewery in Mandai.
The 1925 Brewing Co. was founded in November 2013 as The 1925 Microbrewery & Restaurant by three members of the Yeo family: brothers Ivan and Eng Kuang Yeo and their uncle, Yeo King Joey. It began trading in May 2014 from a Jalan Besar shophouse, with four 600-litre tanks behind the bar. The name is the birth year of the founders' grandfather, Yeo Kim Ho, a dry goods grocer, and many of the beers are named after family stories. The business took its current name in 2016, and in 2018 it moved brewing to a larger production brewery in the Mandai Foodlink building. It set up a distribution company, 9 Degrees Beer, to supply hotels, restaurants and bars. The brewery designs its beers to go with Asian food. XiaoHei Black IPA won Best IPA at the Great Singapore Brew Off 2017, and God's Gift, a chai tea ale, was overall winner at the 2017 Tea Inspired Awards.
